Luo Festival Moves Ticket Sales to Ticket Yetu After Ticket Guru System Crash
The organisers of the 2026 Luo Festival have moved ticket sales from Ticket Guru to Ticket Yetu following high demand that reportedly caused the previous ticketing system to crash, as preparations continue for the highly anticipated cultural celebration scheduled for November 14 at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
The change comes as excitement builds ahead of the annual event, which brings together music lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and fans of Luo music for a celebration featuring live performances, fashion, food, dance, and entertainment.
Organisers have assured fans who purchased their tickets through Ticket Guru that their existing tickets remain valid despite the change in the ticketing platform. The clarification is expected to reassure early buyers who may have concerns about whether they need to purchase new tickets following the transition.
The festival is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi, with a lineup featuring some of the most recognised names in Luo music, including Prince Indah, Odhiambo Tusker, Freddy Jakadongo, Osogo Winyo, and several other performers.
Luo Festival Changes Ticketing Platform
The decision to move ticket sales to Ticket Yetu follows reported technical difficulties with the previous ticketing system during a period of high demand.
With more fans seeking to secure entry to the event, the organisers have adopted the new platform to facilitate ticket purchases as preparations for the festival continue.
The official Ticket Yetu event listing confirms that the 2026 Luo Festival will take place at Uhuru Gardens on November 14. The platform also lists the available ticket categories and their respective prices, giving prospective attendees an alternative channel through which to secure entry.
The organisers have also clarified that tickets purchased earlier through Ticket Guru will remain valid. This means previous ticket holders should not need to buy another ticket simply because the sales platform has changed.
Fans who already have tickets are encouraged to retain their original purchase confirmations and follow any official instructions from the organisers regarding entry arrangements.
The change highlights the importance of reliable ticketing systems for large entertainment events, particularly when demand increases and many customers attempt to purchase tickets at the same time.
Luo Festival 2026 Ticket Prices
The organisers have announced three main ticket categories for fans planning to attend the event, catering to different budgets and group sizes.
The listed prices are:

Prince Indah, Odhiambo Tusker and Freddy Jakadongo Among Performers
The 2026 Luo Festival lineup brings together established musicians and other performers from the Luo music scene, promising an event centred on cultural expression and live entertainment.
Prince Indah is among the headline names expected to attract fans to Uhuru Gardens. Known for his contribution to contemporary Ohangla music, the singer has built a following through his music and live performances.
Odhiambo Tusker and Freddy Jakadongo are also among the artistes announced for the festival, alongside Osogo Winyo, John Junior, Otieno Aloka, Odongo Swagg, Osito Kalle, and other musicians.
The wider lineup includes artists representing different sounds and styles within Luo music, giving audiences an opportunity to experience a range of performances throughout the event.
According to the published lineup, the festival will also feature hosts and DJs to complement the live music programme.
The combination of established names and other performers is expected to make the event an important gathering for fans of Ohangla, Benga, and related musical styles.
For many attendees, the attraction extends beyond individual performances to the opportunity to meet fellow music lovers and celebrate the culture through music, fashion, food, and dance.
Luo Festival Continues to Celebrate Luo Culture
Over the years, the Luo Festival has developed into a prominent cultural entertainment event in Kenya, bringing together music and cultural experiences in one setting.
The event provides a platform for musicians to showcase their talent while giving audiences an opportunity to engage with Luo traditions and contemporary cultural expression.
Beyond the stage performances, the festival incorporates elements such as food, fashion, art, and dance, reflecting the diversity of the culture it celebrates.
The 2026 edition is expected to continue this tradition at Uhuru Gardens, a venue that will host music lovers travelling from Nairobi and other parts of the country.
The festival also offers an opportunity for established and emerging performers to reach audiences through live entertainment, while supporting the visibility of Luo music within Kenya’s wider entertainment industry.
As the date draws closer, the organisers’ focus remains on preparing for the event and ensuring fans have the information they need to attend.
Fans Advised to Keep Earlier Tickets
Following the move from Ticket Guru to Ticket Yetu, fans who purchased tickets earlier have been assured that their existing tickets remain valid.
The clarification is particularly important for people who secured entry before the change and may be concerned about the status of their purchases.
Rather than automatically purchasing another ticket, existing ticket holders should retain their original confirmations and refer to official communications from the organisers if they require clarification about entry.
New buyers can consult the Ticket Yetu listing for the current ticket categories and purchasing information.
The reported technical difficulties that prompted the change underline the need for event organisers to communicate clearly with customers whenever ticketing arrangements change.
For the Luo Festival, maintaining confidence among early buyers while making tickets accessible to additional fans will be important as the event approaches.
