Amitabh Bachchan Greets Fans Behind Bulletproof Glass After Bomb Threat
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has continued his decades-old tradition of greeting fans outside his Jalsa residence in Juhu, Mumbai, but his latest appearance came with heightened security following a bomb threat targeting his home.

On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the veteran actor stepped out to acknowledge the large crowd that had gathered outside his residence. However, unlike his usual appearances, he greeted fans from behind a transparent bulletproof glass enclosure.
Videos of the interaction circulated online on Monday morning, November 2, showing the actor standing on his familiar elevated platform, which had been fitted with protective glass on three sides.
The enclosure reportedly stood approximately 12 feet high, allowing him to wave and acknowledge his supporters while maintaining additional protection.
His son, Abhishek Bachchan, was also present during the appearance and remained close to his father as security personnel monitored the gathering.
Bomb Threat Email Names Amitabh Bachchan’s Residence
The increased security followed a threatening email reportedly sent to Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde on October 23, 2026.

The message allegedly threatened bomb attacks targeting the mayor’s office at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters, Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa residence and the venue of singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled Mumbai concert on November 27.
According to reports, the email warned that Bachchan’s residence could be targeted between October 31 and November 27.
It also mentioned a possible attack on a school on October 31 and threatened an explosion at the mayor’s office.
Mumbai Police responded by increasing security and surveillance at the locations mentioned in the communication. Searches were conducted at the mayor’s office, but no suspicious objects were found.
Authorities launched investigations to establish the origin of the email and identify those responsible for issuing the threats.
Tiger Shroff Firing Incident Raises Security Concerns
The security concerns surrounding Jalsa also come weeks after a shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
The incident reportedly involved gunmen opening fire near the actor’s residence, prompting investigations and increased attention to the security of prominent Bollywood personalities.
Reports following the incident claimed that the attackers had also visited the residences of several prominent actors, including Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan, but did not carry out attacks there.

The developments have raised concerns about the safety of celebrities and the security arrangements surrounding their homes.
However, claims regarding the attackers’ movements and intended targets remain subject to police investigations.
Amitabh Maintains His Sunday Tradition Despite Security Concerns
Amitabh Bachchan’s Sunday appearances have become a familiar tradition for his admirers, with fans regularly gathering outside Jalsa hoping to catch a glimpse of the actor.
Despite the recent security scare, the 84-year-old star did not cancel his weekly interaction.
Instead, he acknowledged the crowd from behind the protective enclosure, waving and greeting supporters as they cheered outside his residence.
His appearance attracted widespread attention online, with many social media users discussing the unusual security arrangements.

Some viewers also speculated about whether the actor was wearing additional protective clothing beneath his oversized jacket. However, there was no confirmed information establishing that he was wearing a bulletproof vest.
The appearance highlighted how the security concerns have affected even one of Bollywood’s longest-running celebrity-fan traditions.
For his supporters, however, the Sunday gathering remained an opportunity to see the legendary actor, even with additional security measures in place.
