Tyla Drops New “THAT GIRL” Music Video From A*POP Album
South African singer Tyla has released a new official music video for “THAT GIRL,” bringing fresh visuals to one of the tracks from her second studio album, APOP*.
The video premiered during a stop on her A*POP World Tour in London on October 16 before becoming available online. The release gives fans another look at the creative direction behind the project, with Tyla putting her performance skills and choreography at the centre of the visual.
Directed by Aerin Moreno, the video takes a different approach from the animated world introduced in the song’s earlier visual. This time, the focus is on live-action scenes, energetic dance sequences and a vibrant setting filmed in Los Angeles. Choreography comes from Litchi HOV, a frequent creative collaborator of the singer.
Tyla Brings Her Signature Dance Style to “THAT GIRL”
The new visual leans into the confidence and personality that have become part of Tyla’s artistic identity. Through coordinated choreography, styling and a playful atmosphere, the singer keeps the attention on movement and performance.
Dance has played a major role in Tyla’s international rise, particularly following the success of “Water,” the song that introduced her music to a much wider global audience and earned her a Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance in 2024.
With “THAT GIRL,” she continues to combine music, fashion and dance as connected parts of her creative identity.
A*POP Era Continues
“THAT GIRL” appears on APOP*, Tyla’s second studio album, released on July 24, 2026, through FAX Records under exclusive licence to Epic Records.
The project builds on the sound that has helped establish her internationally, bringing together pop and R&B influences with elements of South African music. The album also features other releases from her current era, including “CHANEL,” “IS IT LOVE” and “SHE DID IT AGAIN,” featuring Zara Larsson.
The new music video arrives as Tyla continues her A*POP World Tour, extending the album’s rollout beyond streaming platforms and into her live performances.
For fans, the release offers another visual interpretation of “THAT GIRL” and adds to the growing collection of videos accompanying the album.
